    The hardware that comes with it is relatively useless, but is easily remedied at the hardware store. Meaning, the toggle style screw heads will slip right through most toilet seat hinge bolt/screw through holes. If you try to add flat washers to “wash it up”, then the snap covers won’t close (not enough clearance). As well, the toggle could potentially damage the porcelain on the bottom side of toilet holes and is relatively small as well (could slip right into hole when snugging up)

    I replaced with 1/4” X 2” stainless machine screws, 1/4” flat washers, 1/4” fender washers for bottom side, and neoprene (rubber) washers in front of fender washers to protect porcelain. Oh, and 1/4” stop/aircraft nuts to finish off. Snug as a bug when done and still just the same months later. This is one heck of a sturdy support and the flip up arms are a big plus. And no legs jutting out everywhere. Pricey, but this thing is built to last several lifetimes.

    I bought this because my wife had fallen and broke her collar bone. She likes the handle height and that it flips back out of the way. However, it does get close to the flush handle but it isn’t limiting. We have a Kholer comfort height toilet where the handle is on the side. One thing that needs to be addressed is the advertisement that it will support 520 pounds. The device has a large yellow sticker that says plainly that using both handles it only supports 264 pounds. This weight difference isn’t a problem for us but it could be for others. The installation was pretty straight forward. Here in the states toilet seat mounting holes are the same. Being a Kholer it uses stainless steel bolts for the seat. I grabbed a couple of larger washers and wing nuts, both stainless steel, and installed the bracket and seat instead of using some oddball looking bolts.

    I purchased this for a family member who needs assistance and I didn’t like the metal frame one we had. It advertises that it works up to over 500 poiunds, so it seemed it would be sturdy. Unfortunately the arm width is only 17.3-inches — less than the width of a standard airplane seat. Would be great for Granny Clampett, but definitely not for a plus size person. Definitely can’t use this. I hope it’s not too late to return it!

    Very awkward to put together. All pieces heavy and took 2 people to set up. . Instructions weren’t worth much. The arms themselves are great. They are heavy and sturdy. They fold up and out of the way nicely. I wish the arms were longer but no big deal. Already recommended to it to someone.
